This video project is comprised of a sequence of crowdsourced recreations of a 10 second scene from the 1980s television show, Full House. The sound of the dialogue was overlaid with sound loops from the scene's original incidental music. Due to the editing, a rhythm arises from the dialog that punctuates a slow building orchestral tone, shifting the emotional context of the videos. The people in the US and UK who re-shot the scene were recruited through Internet message boards and Craigslist, and each of the original 10 sets of participants were paid a small fee using a commission from Turbulence.org/New Radio and Performing Arts. You're Not My Father has exhibited as MoMA PS1, Andrea Rosen Gallery, and Vertexlist in New York, The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, and Dunn and Brown Contemporary in Dallas.
