VML is site-specific audiovisual live performance project using a large array of video projectors with robotic cameras and video processing equipment. I developed control software for robotic cameras that allows creation of a variety of video feedback patterns with the array of cameras. VML has performed at Clock Tower Gallery and Fluxfactory in New York, and at Goat Farm in Atlanta. The group includes Paul Slocum, John-Michael Boling, Julian Bozeman, and John Crowe. The first video clip below is from our performance at Clock Tower Gallery in New York in 2013. We installed 10 projectors and multiple robotic cameras all around the gallery, and used remote controlled lanterns and plants to feed our video feedback system. The documentation is taken from three of our robotic cameras that were feeding the video feedback system. (click button to play) |
